Treadwell & Rollo is delivering environmental consulting services for this 35-acre commercial redevelopment, a former General Electric manufacturing facility. Our engineers are preparing drawings and specifications for mitigation of indoor vapor intrusion for 28 buildings. GE and Treadwell & Rollo developed a tiered VMS plan that includes a membrane and layer of crushed rock beneath the building slab, with horizontal perforated pipes to collect vapors and vent them through a riser pipe. The systems use natural convection, eliminating mechanical blowers; all components were installed outside public areas, with sampling ports on the roof to minimize tenant disruption.
