To the Gast family skating is not just a business, it's a life long passion. Skate Texas owners John and Margaret Gast, along with their daughter Dorothy, are active members of the Houston skating community. In addition to owning and operating the shop, all three are active in the local skating scene. In addition to taking part in local recreational hockey, John is a ice hockey coach and numbered speed skating referee. Dorothy is a complete-time professional figure skating coach.
