Living Light's beginnings as a congregation go back to the 1970s, when many individuals in a traditional denominational church in Kenosha started to experience the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit (and an accompanying fresh understanding of the reality of God) in the context of what was known nationally and internationally as the Charismatic Renewal. The resulting prayer group attracted people from other denominations - and indeed with no previous church background - who were hungry for God.

We also recognize that worship is much more than a response in song; true worship is the joyful and willing submission of the whole of our lives to God (Romans 12:1-2).
