
Jayne Brown, a native of Charleston, SC moved to Indianapolis in 1961 and started working for the Stuart's Moving and Storage Company. During her career with Stuart's, Jayne attended Cordie King's modeling school part-time. After finding Mrs. King's school concept to be exciting and alluring, Jayne was inspired to open her own modeling school in 1972. With an initial investment of $100 for the 1st month's rent, Jayne set up shop at 34th and Pennsylvania St, in Indianapolis. A few months later, her modeling troupe held it's 1st fashion show. The show was so successful at arousing the crowd, several attendees wanted to purchase clothing items featured in the fashion show.
