Our business philosophy is to train teens and adults to become safe, competent, defensive drivers. While many students are concentrated on the short-term aim of obtaining a drivers license and accompanying liberty, we emphasize the long-term aim of staying safe and alive on the roads by accepting the responsibility that comes with driving. Liberty Driving School was established in 2003 by Gary Embree, a local high school driver's education teacher. A driving instructor since 1995, Gary opened Freedom Driving School with a aim of operating a business that emphasized individual instruction.

We offer safe and reliable driver education and driver training for teens. The vast majority of our students enjoy free pick-up and drop-off prior to and after their lessons. We arrange pick-up and drop-off at home addresses, schools, part-time jobs, athletic practice fields, etc. However, in order to keep our prices among the lowest available in our region, we have established central meeting places for students who reside in some outlying areas.

read moreAll of our instructors are specially licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles to train student drivers. They are patient, calm, friendly and enjoy working with teens. Our instructors also complete continuing education seminars annually to sharpen their skills and receive ideas for improving their instruction methods. Instructors have been fingerprinted and cleared by the Department of Justice following an extensive background check. Gary is the owner, operator, and instructor of Freedom Driving School.

Teens can obtain their Certificate of Completion of Driver Education (pink slip) through completing the online driver education program. Please review the chart on our Prices Page for the costs of driver education. Teens who wish to complete their driver education requirement at their own pace and in the convenience of their own home may choose our internet-based driver education program. Time to complete this program varies, as it is completely self-directed and taken at each student's own pace.
