read moreFounded as a nonprofit organization in 1991, Families in Transition - New Horizons was formed as a response to the growing number of homeless individuals and families in Manchester and throughout the state of New Hampshire. Since its inception, FIT has been committed to providing only the most innovative and effective programming to help homeless individuals and families reach beyond the cycle of homelessness and lead healthy and successful lives. We believe that having a home is a basic human right and a fundamental component of becoming an engaged and contributing member of the community.

read moreAt Families in Transition - New Horizons, we provide not only the time and place to recover from homelessness, but also the comprehensive support to help participants overcome the root causes of their homelessness, which may include poverty, domestic violence, mental and/or physical illness, underemployment, addiction, isolation, and loneliness. Clinical staff, which include licensed Master's level Clinicians, Treatment Coordinators, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and specialists in children and youth, provide a wide range of programs and services to help participants develop the successful tools that lead to economic and emotional independence and self-sufficiency.
